Grandma Joyce’s Christmas Cookies

Description

This is fun.

No idea what this is:

"1 teaspoon in ¼ cup hot water"

1 teaspoon of what?

And who puts dates in frosted Christmas cookies? don't forget the 1 CUP OF LARD!

Frost with what? Maybe the lard.

A recipe that was in a collection of holiday dishes Karl shared from Grandma Joyce. I promise I copied it exactly as written. Options, raisins, dates, nuts, and all.

Ingredients

1 ½ cup brown sugar
1 cup lard
3 eggs
1 teaspoon in ¼ cup hot water
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons vanilla
4 cups flour
Options, raisins, dates, nuts

Directions

Mix all ingredients together until you have a dough. Let cool in refrigerator before rolling. Roll out with as little flour as possible. Use Xmas cutters and frost.
